Since Hemp is indisposed (and not too bright) ... George Akers will present the sermon tonight
Yeah .. like I always said back in 58 .... Give any one enough Hemp and they'll hang themselves!
Your husband was SOOOOO GOOD!!! .... The choir would have tanked WITHOUT him!!!
This is John Read our wonderful music director when we were at SVA.
.... John ... I was just happy I could help out .. grin .. I was pretty bad wasn't I? ... not a crooner like Archer and Dick Brown!
On your left we have Nancy Mondicks my first girl friend and that was in Fredricksburg, Va the summer of 1956 where my dad was minister .... next to her is Charley Revels .. he was a little bit mouthy when I was Sgt. at Arms in the SVA Men's club ... I had to shut him down a few times (grin) .. and I still have the big guns to do it again Charley ... ( ; > ) ... Next is Betty Rudisaile's kid sister Bonnie and then Betty herself ... It was Steady Betty and me for about 4 months my Junior year until Archer interfered on that infamous December ingathering night! .... grin .. fun years for sure .. for Archer and Betty anyway .... ( ; > ) ... These sophomore girls would all rather hang with the Seniors ... made it rough on us younger guys ... grin. I remember Joyce Hicks had the glamor job in the bakery and I worked right outside the bakery door in the hall with the low class job of washing pots and pans & peeling potatoes ... was hard to try and date her since she was always going out with Shorty Crandel! .... BUT ... I did talk her out of a lot of extra Cinnimon Rolls! Hee-Hee And and working below the girls dorm had it's other rewards .. like getting that kiss from Eleanor (Elie Stant) ... I peeled a lot of potatoes that night I'll tell you!!! grin

Our good buddy ole Archer Livengood
This is our special little railroad buddy .. Jim & Martha Sanderson's grandson We mailed him an engineers hat, whistle and large color photos of our railroad. .. and thank God they all survived a horrendous accident on hwy 81 while returning home from last years SVA reunion where the photos we gave him then were destroyed in the accident. And a note ... the photo just below this shows him with his new hat with one of our train tickets on it ... he really didn't want his new hat ruined in the photo with this ticket on it .. so I told him I would show it without the ticket ... so ...here both of them are ... (grin)
