Pig Roast Donated by George Emmerson, Ed Bond, Curtis Wong. Donation Package Purchased by Mark Emmerson & Red Emmerson. Event held at Shenandoah West .. Home of Dave & Becky Hemp ... Steam & Electric Train Rides, etc.
This was a most pleasant event with such great folks! ... Prolly 150 - 175 attending including kids which was really great .... the energy they exude was catching and inspiring! .... I ran the steam train "Little Bubba" for 5 or 6 hrs straight and it ran flawlessly with full loads each time ... as did our new little electric switcher engine "Davey Boy" ... it hauled about 10,000 lbs fully loaded passenger car and caboose too for over an hour ... 36 volt engine that never did run down ... pulled over 6 to 8 miles we figure .... The steam engine used over 150 gallons of water and prolly pulled over 50 miles total.
The pork was fantastic as usual .... thanks to the chefs Ed Bond, George Emmerson and Dr. Curtis Wong ... and much thanks to Mark and Red Emmerson and family for purchasing the package. They also hired the Sausage Factory (which did a great job too) to supplement the pork with roasted chicken, desert, a full bar, etc. ... Much fun was had by all ....And the CA society came out great too.
Just a note .... More photos to follow ..... If you took photos please drop duplicates by my office to include on this page ... I was the engineer on the steam train which takes my full attention ..so did not have time to mingle or meet hardly anyone or get many photos once the action started ....
