9/30/07 ....And an update note .... Still loving these handpieces and we hardly ever use our high speed air rotors anymore at all.

3/3/10 UPDATE .... 5 years now with our orginal 3 Kavo Electric High Speed Handpieces, no repairs or problems, tons of use ... I still love these things!!! .. But ... in upgrading all our Adec Carts our repairman knocked loose some sediment in our water heaters and plugged up one of our Kavo umbilicals to the handpiece. AS good as these wonderful handpieces are, Kavo's Customer Service Support is equally as BAD! .... An overnight shipping took 10 days and 3 calls from Henry Schein to finally get the new $475 umbilical line delivered today! They are very very arrogant .. after the first call and 4 days later .. Lillian called from Schein to see why no delivery .. they said .. we need the serial number .. she said why didn't you ask for that originally? or Call Dr. Hemp .. Kavo said WE DON'T DO THAT! ..Lillian called us we gave her the serial # .. she relayed the info .. it was again promised the next day overnight .. 4 more days .. No line ..Lillian Called again .. this time Kavo said .. Oh .. we forgot .. finally got it .. was down one operatory for almost 2 weeks .. No excuse for things like this .. and to add insult to injury .. I have been responsible for many of their sales through this website and the emails I have received about the Kavo Handpieces. I am just glad we didn't send the old umbilical in to have them unclog it as I was 1st planning on doing .. they'd have it till 2011. There must be other electric handpieces out there now that also have decent product support! .. Now back to the rest of our Kavo page

Those of you that have not yet tried KaVo's newest 2005 brushless motor electric handpieces are really missing out ... KaVo USA will let you try one for a week in your office ... But be forewarned! ... You will buy this system! ... Makes the old air rotors feel like a rattley old model T. Plus ... They are made in my and Becky's Heimatland! .... (grin)


Update .. 1-16-06 ... Again .. Dang! ... I just love these New KaVo Electrotorque handpieces!!! .... Sooo Smoooth and plenty of continuous torque ... I have waited 10 years for these new improvements! Great lighting, fingertip water controls on both high and low speed handpieces .. But .. don't rush into buying the KaVo slow speed handpieces unless you don't already have a couple of the air rotor contra-angle latch ones all ready set up which is still faster than changing out handpieces off the same electric motor. Plus you can always buy them later if you can't live without them ..... The new used KaVo slow speeds are pretty easy to pick up for half price as there are others that found out they didn't need them either after the purchase or after receiving them free as part of a special.

We are still using our high speed air rotor handpieces for small adjustments ... And saving the electrics for preps, finishing bondings and porcelain veneers, etc. ...

Also ... These new KaVo's do not need oiling after they come out of the sterilizer (ChemClave) like our air rotors do. It took me a little while to accept this but when I recently read that KaVo had cycled these individual handpieces thru the sterilization process 35,000 times with out failure I figured we'd go with their recommendations. ..... Also ....KaVo did get the 2005 product of the year award for these amazing handpieces. ...

There are 50% cheaper non KaVo handpieces that will fit these new brushless KaVo motors ... But I bet they won't go through 35,000 cycles ... You get what you pay for! .... Guess I'll have to buy some stock in KaVo too like we already have in Schick/Sirona. ;>)
